First Eucharist

According to the diocesan mandate, First Eucharist will be celebrated with children in the third grade.  Students will be prepared for the reception of the Sacrament of the Eucharist in their religion education classes or at St. Peter Cathedral School.  Prior to the reception of the sacrament, there will be two parent meetings.

Sunday, October 2, 2011 at the 11:00 Liturgy

Retreat Day:

Friday, May 4, 2012 from 9AM-2PM in Synod Hall

Sunday, May 6. 2012 at the 11:00 Liturgy

First Eucharist Comeback:

Sunday, May 20, 2012 at the 11:00 Liturgy

 

Confirmation

Students to be confirmed must be a junior in high school or older.  Students will participate in nine classes on the following dates. Classes will be at St. Peter Cathedral School from 9:30-10:45 AM. Please register will Miss Hund at 450-3711 or 452-4276 or by email at khund@stpetercathedral.com$50.00 registration fee, per student, is due upon registration.

                Fall session: Sept. 25, Oct. 16, 23, and 30, 2011

                Spring Session: March 4 & 11 and April 15, 22, and 29, 2012

Confirmation candidates must complete 25 service hours, with at least 12 being hours to the parish community.  Parish service requirements will be distributed to candidates at the first meeting.  Candidate must attend a confirmation retreat with their class in the winter.

First Reconciliation

According to diocesan policy, First Reconciliation will be administered to students in second grade.  Students will be prepared for the reception of the Sacrament of Reconciliation in their religion education classes or at St. Peter Cathedral School.  Prior to the reception of the sacrament, there will be a parent meetings at the school.

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults ~ RCIA is a process for welcoming new members into the Catholic Church and for non-Catholics who wish to know more about the Catholic Church. Classes will meet on Wednesday evenings beginning in September. The candidates are welcomed into the Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil.

Baptism

In order to more fully understand the Sacrament of Baptism, parents are to attend a Baptismal Preparation Class prior to the baptism of their first child.  Classes are held on the third Thursday of the following months at 7:30 PM in the rectory.  Please call the rectory office at 453-6677, ext. 8 to register for a class.

Baptisms are held on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month at 1:00PM., except during Lent. Please call the rectory, 453-6677 ext. 8, to schedule your child’s baptism.

 

 

 

 

    Religious Education Classes

Classes for students attending public school will be held at the St. Peter Cathedral School at 160 West 11th Street according to the schedule below.  In addition, each student will have the opportunity to participate in a grade level retreat and service project during the school year.

Registration: Students may register on Sunday, September 11th at St. Peter Cathedral School.
$50.00 per child registration fee is due upon registration.
