This year we are going to learn an incredible amount of technology, ranging from how to navigate the computer and its programs, to building websites, understanding the ins and outs of social networking, publishing our own work online, designing presentations, and more.

In addition to the school’s website, there will be multiple class websites. These sites will be a place for students to publish work, hold online discussions about in-class projects and texts, and offer a space for parents to be involved in our classroom community. Assignments will always be posted online, so if you miss class, you will be expected to check the class calendar.  

The ultimate goal of this course is to guide students in the journey of becoming versatile, creative, smart technology users. Studying the role technology plays in all of our lives—from the text messages we send, to the way we portray ourselves on social networking sites, to the websites we frequent—will not only help you become experts, but also will allow you to make intelligent and responsible choices.
