Getting Involved ~ Heart Springs Care & Concern

Visitation Ministry members visit our parish members who are homebound, in nursing homes, or in the hospital. Eucharistic Ministers will take the Eucharist to those who are homebound. Call Arlen Twerdok at 814-453-6677, ext 8 or email at aetwerdok@stpetercathedral.com to help or to request a visit.

Days of Caring are two days set aside when parishioners are asked to visit those who are homebound or in nursing homes to bring them a small gift, cards, and the prayers of the parish community.  Members assist with preparations for the Advent Days of Caring and the Lenten Day of Caring.  Please watch the bulletin for information regarding dates and times.

Lenten Works of Mercy is a collection of needed item taken during Lent and distributed among the poor in Erie.  Other collections are taken up periodically during the year.

Historical Tours are given to various groups who come to visit the Cathedral. Please contact Mike Gallagher at 814-490-2760 to schedule your tour.

The Prayer Line allows parishioners to request prayers and to assist one another in prayerful support. Contact Mary Flamini, coordinator, at 814-833-8286.

The Parish Food Pantry makes groceries available throught the rectory every Wednesday morning to persons living in the Cathedral's neighborhood as defined by the local food bank.  People are needed to packing on Tuesday morning and for pick up food from the Food Bank on Tuesday afternoon, and/or assist with the distribution on Wednesday mornings. New Member Welcome provides a personal contact to all new parishioners to welcome them to the Cathedral community.

Coffee and Donut Hours are held quarterly on Sunday morning after the 8:15 AM and 9:00 AM (please watch the Sunday bulletin for dates). Parishioners are needed to set up, serve, welcome guests and clen up afterwards. Please call Helen Gangemi at 814-453-6677, ext. 8 or email at hagangemi@stpetercathedral.com.

Parish/School Annual Picnic is held the first Sunday in June at Waldameer Park for parishioners, school families and guests. It is a time of relaxation and fun for all involved.  Please watch the Sunday Bulletin for more details.
